Web Development & Analytics

Background & Objectives

The official government investment agency of Guyana, approached REAS for a complete website overhaul. Their existing website was slow, outdated, and difficult to manage internally. The team lacked the tools to update content, leading to bottlenecks and a poor user experience. Their objectives were clear:

  • Modernize the look and feel of the website
  • Improve speed and SEO performance
  • Make it easier to manage and update internally
  • Highlight key content, including Facebook activity, PDF resources, and events
  • Integrate new technologies such as chatbot interactions and background video

Discovery & Strategy

Our discovery began with a deep audit of the existing website, where we identified:

  • Significant speed issues particularly on desktop
  • Static user experience
  • Google PageSpeed scores in the 20s–40s
  • Zero analytics – no idea who was visiting or what investors were looking for
  • No interactive tools – static PDFs and broken links
  • Low organic visibility – barely ranking for “invest in Guyana” globally

Investors, users, and staff were frustrated.

Guyana’s incredible growth story was hidden behind a digital wall.

A collaborative strategy was formed through stakeholder interviews and weekly calls with their team.

We benchmarked similar government and ministry websites, then combined that research with the Guyana Office for Investment’s internal vision. A spreadsheet was shared to track the entire project timeline, updates, and content responsibilities. The strategy centered around:

  • Creating a flexible CMS on Webflow
  • Introducing motion and interactivity via animations and video
  • Ensuring mobile responsiveness and accessibility
  • Enabling content tracking and analytics via G4 and Search Console

Design Process

The design process was a blend of structure and creativity. Our design lead worked closely with the client’s point of contact, Max, to visualize their ideas and turn them into intuitive, engaging pages.

Key design features included:

  • Background videos on homepage and landing pages
  • Custom Facebook widget integration (prominently featured on every page)
  • “Follow us on Facebook” CTAs throughout the site
  • Filter systems for events and resources
  • Dynamic team bios with no need for individual pages
  • A light rebranding involving new color palettes (blue and yellow), selected collaboratively with the client after feedback from a focus group
  • Integration with a Chatbot and Zapier API calls
  • Form and database integration with Google Workspace Apps including Sheets

Development & Execution

We developed the site using Webflow, chosen for its intuitive CMS and client-friendly backend. This empowered the Guyana Office for Investment’s team to easily update pages, events, and documents with minimal technical support.

Key development efforts included:

  • Fully custom CMS collections for news, events, team bios, and resources
  • AI-powered chatbot integration using a custom animated robot icon
  • SEO optimization with dedicated meta titles and descriptions for each page
  • Google Analytics 4 setup with goal tracking (e.g., form submissions, PDF downloads)
  • Speed optimization to significantly improve SEO performance

While the chatbot and PDF-heavy pages posed performance challenges, these were mitigated wherever possible without compromising functionality.

It was a great honor working with the dynamic and creative team on creating the new website for the Guyana Office for Investment.
